Ulteo Open Virtual Desktop 2.5 BETA

Ulteo OVD 2.5 branch is a scalability version of the Ulteo OVD 2 series. It has been tuned and improved to allow OVD deployments for a large number of users. It also brings several improvement and bugfixes (read below). Please test the beta as much as you can and report bugs to Ulteo!

Testing

• How to test ?

  In order to test, choose from your preferred installation method:
  
  • From the network to an Ubuntu, Red Hat, or OpenSUSE server
  • From a standalone DVD ISO installation (host OS+OVD)
  Additionally, you can install the OVD agent for Windows on a Windows Server if you plan to deliver Windows applications. Then please read and follow download and installation instructions in the corresponding documentation below. Please be sure to read the documentation for accurate configuration of Ulteo OVD.
  
  Then, you can report bugs to us by sending an email to: report-ovd-bugs _at_ ulteo _dot_ com.
  

• What to test ?

  Here is a list of important tests we'd like beta testers to focus on:
  
  
  • Administration console with large Active Directory/LDAP (> 1000 users)
  
  Of course, every other test and bug report is welcome!

Update May 20th, 2010 - Ulteo OVD 2.5 beta1 - Scalability release

This is a scalability release of the Ulteo OVD 2 branch. It helps to deploy OVD for thousands users. It also includes several improvements and bugfixes:

• Application Server (linux): create parallel processes that can launch more sessions to handle a larger number of users and decrease session start duration
• Session Manager: improve handling of a large number of users, including better LDAP & Active Directory link (tested with more than 50,000 users directories).
